Something I forgot to share

I built this table last year, it was my first sold furniture, and a whole learning experience: first time designing something from scratch and according to customer specs, first veneer job, and more.

Little Update

The Mini Simmons board is done. Will have about 50 hours of work on it when complete (fin installation and final sanding is pending). It came nicer than I thought! Nose rocker a litle flatter than expected -I still need to figure that out- but overall quite good. Foam-filling, while expensive, results in a very strong "blank". Glassing schedule is single 6 oz all-around, poly resin as usual.
Now the dilemma: Fin position. I've never built a twin fin before, but I'm doing my homework and will figure it out soon.

Coming Soon...

Hollow, wooden, foam-filled Mini Simmons.

8'2'' HWS Prototype

My newest creation. Wanted to build the longest board available from a single plywood sheet. Ended being 2" longer because of nose and tailblocks. I really like the shape, but rocker came flatter than expected because of springback...sucks. It's also quite heavy, because top and bottom skins are 1/4" instead of 1/8" which is what I normally use, because the original idea was to build it unglassed. Thin rails (thanks to domed deck) built the Jensen way. Glassed single 4oz all around. BTW, it's not a HWS sensu stricto: before building up the rails the board was filled up with canned insulation foam. No need to put a vent on it. Single "rising sun" fin built from wood scraps.
